As part of CNN’s Two Degrees series about climate change, they sent a reporter, John Sutter, to the Marshall Islands to report on how the fate of the islands are dependent on how well we are able to manage global warming. A rise in the earth’s temperature of two degrees or more is likely to submerge the islands, displacing thousands of people and washing away the history of a long a distinct culture. My main contribution to this project was the creation of the motion graphic header (below) showing the island vanishing beneath the waves of the Pacific Ocean. I also gave additional consultation on how to integrate social media videos shot by the reporter while he was there, as well as creating a simple locator map for the project.
